Croydon makes up a substantial part of South London. Its area is 34 square miles (87 km²) and it is the largest London Borough by population. At its centre is the historic town of Croydon from which the borough takes its name. Central Croydon is a thriving, cosmopolitan town and is the location of many shop and offices. Croydon was the second borough to grasp the Kick London vision and the Board of Kick London presented the Kick London concept at a public meeting at West Wickham and Shirley Baptist Church in late 2005. As a consequence of this meeting, Kick London was established in Croydon.
In 2006 Hans Sims was employed as Croydon’s first Kick London Development Officer. He helped to establish summer holiday camps, schools work and weekend academies in Croydon. 9 months later we employed a second full time coach as the demand for Kick London sessions grew, and Lewis Farquharson was appointed as Kick London’s first senior football coach. Now 6 staff coaches are based in the Boroughs of Croydon and Bromley.
