Mark joins Kick having previously been a teacher of business studies in a secondary school and before that he worked in finance at Prudential. He got married to Millie just before Christmas 2007 and is enjoying married life in Isleworth.
Mark was born in Hammersmith, but moved to Sunninghill, Berkshire when he was five, ending up in Bracknell where he lived for 10 years, only returning to London when he got married. Mark became a Christian when he was 16 and has been involved in youth work ever since. He helped set up Eternity Youth Church (Warfield) and was a member of the leadership team for 10 years. He was then sent out to plant a family church and was involved in leading this for 3 years before becoming a member of Holy Trinity Richmond.
He has always loved football and his footballing career started in the Ascot Utd under 14s. Later in life, his back room skills were more evident than his skills on the pitch and so he founded and ran a church football team which reached out to those who didn’t know Jesus and weren’t involved in the church. Although coming on as a sub occasionally, he more often ended up running the line.
In his spare time, Mark loves skiing, travelling and eating out. He has an interest in supporting the church in developing countries and has been on several Tearfund teams to Africa and Asia. In fact he met his wife when they were both on a team in Malawi.
Mark is glad to be a part of Kick at an exciting time in the charity's life and in playing his role in fulfilling the vision to reach 30,000 young people across the whole of London. He has a passion to see young people’s lives transformed by the love of God and becoming part of a community in the local church.
