Sammy Dieng

Kick London (Croydon)

Sammy was born and grew up in France. From the ages of 12 to 18 he played at the academy of Grenoble (GF38) where he was doing football and studied business. He grew up in a Christian family where he learnt to live by the Bible, but it was when he came to England that he really started to have a personal experience of his faith and on 15 February 2009, he was baptised at New Life Christian Centre in Croydon.

Sammy joined Kick London in September 2009 after completing a successful year working as an assistant coach. During this year Sammy passed his FA Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football and is hoping to progress to Level 3 (UEFA B). Sammy has now established himself as an integral part of the Kick London team. He is not only a great coach but is a useful player too!

What is your preferred playing position? On the wing or up front

What is your pre-match meal of choice? Rice or pasta with chicken

What's the most embarrassing mistake you've ever made on a football pitch? A back pass intercepted by the striker and the opposition then scored  - my mum was there as well!
